Cable Joints & Cable Glands

The extensive range of cable entry systems primarily offers cable entries for standard industry as well as Ex e and Ex d applications with extensive approvals. Individual cable entry types are available with connection thread sizes up to M 110 x 2 or NPT 4″. Cables with an outer diameter of min 4,5 up to 104 mm can be strain-relieved and sealed up to IP 68. The cable glands are available in polyamide 6, nickel-plated brass or stainless steel. In addition, some types offer the possibility of installing armored cables. There is a tailor-made solution for every cable, no matter how special.

The cable glands in heavy duty design are suitable for particularly demanding mechanical applications and especially for cables that are not permanently installed. These solid and robust cable glands offer high bending protection and extremely high strain relief. The bending protection is made possible by a trumpet with large radii. The great strain relief is realised by an extremely robust clamp(s). The clamping range is from min 2,0 up to 68 mm. Further advantages of this cable gland series, which is also available in a flange-mounted version, are the low and high temperature range, a protection class up to IP 68 (200 m water depth) and various Ex e and Ex d certificates for Group I and II. In addition to the standard threads (M, Pg, G, NPT), customised connection threads with various pitches can also be realised on request. For example, sizes like M22x1,5 or M65x1,0 are possible.

Unlike cold and heat shrink technology, our range of high-quality cable joints uses liquid insulation technology. This technology offers unique advantages in changing energy distribution networks under the influence of renewable energies and electromobility. The conductors to be connected are encased in a hermetically sealed insulation body, which is then filled with a liquid silicone called “LOVISIL”. This silicone has a dielectric strength of 21 mm/kV. Lovisil is the only technology that absorbs material-damaging partial discharges. In contrast to heat shrink and cold shrink techniques, no separating surfaces are formed on electrically critical parts within the electrical field. The space between the insulation body and the actual two-part sleeve housing made of ABS is filled with a resin for mechanical protection. There are different joints for various applications for rated voltages from 1 to 36 kV available. Single and/or multi-conductor cables (paper-insulated (PILC/PICAS) and polymeric (XLPE/EPR) cables) can be connected up to 1000 mm².
